Katie was my youngest daughters Kindergarten teacher a few years ago. For us, sending our youngest into public school was terrifying, as she was susceptible to illness due to a weak immune system. We were instantly welcomed into Katie’s presence as we entered her classroom and she informed us that she knew about my sweet girls journey and followed along when she was in treatment. To have someone know all the troubles we went through when we were living them was a relief for us. We knew for the first time we wouldn’t sound like crazy helicopter parents. She knew my sweet girl before she even entered her class.

She helped my daughter blossom into the spunky, driven, and capable child she is today and we are so thankful for her. When Katie mentioned she was expecting I was SO excited for her and her husband, as there is no better journey than that of parenthood.
